We did Latina Christiana, A Beka (loved the missionary stories) read lots of classics, YWAM missionary bios, and historical fiction. We moved over to BJU Press math (LOVE it!) and eventually all BJU Press Distance Learning as the kids began high school work. When I brought my youngest daughters home after K5, I used all BJU Press DVD's and they really enjoyed them. :) The videos are lots of fun and the girls like learning with the comical skits, etc.. I supplement with IEW Writing and lots of good books from the Sonlight and Journeyforth catalogs.

My one piece of advice would be to choose primarily Christian Curriculum (if not entirely!) People bring kids home and then teach secular stuff. Since our school system is excellent, the only reason I homeschool is to teach a Christian Worldview. (although there have been lots of other advantages along the way - like more time together, a slower pace, etc.) Scripture teaches that Christ is the Foundation of all knowledge, and that has been our starting point. Everything else follows. :) HTH, Kimkimjaxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11758597864394398443noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3130342803473885718.post-36409025634894430482012-04-04T08:49:16.449-04:002012-04-04T08:49:16.449-04:00Beautiful Kim. Can you post more about homeschooling, such as the ages you began and if you did it into later grades and what curriculum you like?Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07033823622722768455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3130342803473885718.post-24259743851277584622012-04-03T13:03:32.402-04:002012-04-03T13:03:32.402-04:00I'm so happy for you and your new girls.
